Lilydale Airport is located in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, about one hour’s drive from the Melbourne CBD. The airport is half way between Lilydale and Yarra Glen.
If you are a pilot, you can also fly in for the airshow, though you will need to be on the ground by 11 am, and must wait to depart until the airport re-opens at the conclusion of the air show (around 3.30 pm). Fuel will not be available on the day of the air show until well after 3.30 pm.
Prior permission is required to land and this can be obtained in person or by phone from Flight Operations at Lilydale Flying School on (03) 9739 1211. (Permission can NOT be obtained on CTAF 119.1 or from anyone other than an employee of Lilydale Airport.) There is no landing fee, and no air show entry fee for those arriving by air.
